9/11: From the Island Eleven Years Ago Today–A Different Story

Everyone has a story about this day. They remember it much like we did JFK’s assassination when I was a kid. “What were you doing that day?” You’d hear people ask. I was at my grandmother’s house with the rest of our family. I was only 5 years old so I only remember gathering in her living room watching TV.

But eleven years ago today, I was 44 years old. The day fell 36 days after my divorce.
