Three Upcoming Writers Conferences

Here are three upcoming writers conferences. They span the U.S. in geographical scope. I have decided to make Thursdays a writers resource day on my blog where I’ll be posting information about conferences, workshops, and listings of agents and publishers. But for today, here are three great conferences for writers you might be interested in attending.

2018 VQR Writers’ Conference

The fifth annual VQR Writers’ Conference takes place July 30-August 4, 2018, on the grounds of the historic University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Our conference is designed for serious writers at all stages of their careers looking for inspiration and camaraderie.

“The Premier Christian Fiction Conference”

Join us for the ACFW 2018 Conference
Nashville, Tennessee
September 20th-23rd

If you’ve attended an ACFW conference before, you understand what the excitement’s about. Each year, hundreds of veteran authors and those just learning the craft of Christian fiction gather in a setting like this to hear skilled instructors, inspiring keynoters…to gain from the insights of industry professionals…to interact with other writers…and to present their ideas to agents and editors looking for stories like theirs, or to mentors who can help them move forward in their writing career. If you write Christian fiction—or want to learn how—the ACFW conference is an investment worth making. We hope you’ll join us on this exciting journey. ACFW, the Voice of Christian fiction.

“The Writers’ Workshop is a community treasure that deserves to be nurtured and supported
–   John Le Carre
Award-winning writers have supported our programs by giving benefit readings in Asheville, including Eudora Welty (broadcast on N.P.R.’s “All Things Considered“), John Le Carre (featured in The Washington Post), Peter Matthiessen, Kurt Vonnegut, E.L. Doctorow, Don De Lillo, Sue Monk Kidd, Gail Godwin, Reynolds Price, Pat Conroy, Alex Haley  – and many others.
Our mission is to provide top-notch workshops, readings, retreats and contests for the benefit of the community at large.

As for me, you can find me and all of my writing at my Books page and on Facebook and Twitter where I not only talk about my latest news and writing, but also about life, deer, and occasionally… politics!
