We have lots happening on the Susan Wingate Writing front. Between writing, editing, publishing, writing workshops, and my podcast “Dialogue: Between the Lines,” I am a-hoppin’!
On the writing front, I am well underway with the writing of another novel. This story is a catastrophic event type novel featuring a female protagonist, Zaine Walker. She’s young. She’s gritty. She’s kick-ass. Her external threat? The freaking Russians are coming… again Zaine isn’t going to have any of it. She risks everything she loves to stop them. What’s more? She’s on a fast track back to find her childhood abuser, her own stepfather. Will she be able to face him? Or will she quail in his presence? Zaine Walker has so much to lose. But she loses something she never thought possible.
My latest completed novel is off to the editor. That novel is a “coming of age,” young adult story with elements of magical realism. My editor will get me the edits back early in May. Afterward, we will go back-and-forth with three full edits. Then after she blesses my revisions, I will be shopping the story to publishers.
I have news for an upcoming release of another novel. Details like the title and release date will follow. I’m super excited about this novel. This story will be categorized within the genres of Christian Fantasy, Christian Science Fiction & Fantasy, and End-of-Times horror fiction. I will be revealing the cover soon and will give further details about this novel as soon as I’m allowed.
I am thrilled to finally have my writing studio ready to host workshops. I am leading several upcoming workshops at The Wingate Writing Studio, such as Drilling Down Character and my popular Build Your eBook. I hosted my first writers retreat at the end of March 2019. Participants enjoyed the surrounding woods where the studio is located. A few deer even showed up to bless our writing.
You can learn more about The Writing Studio by checking out the 2019 schedule of events. And, thank God, all events come with coffee!
And why the deer? You’ll find out.
Dialogue: Between the Lines
Dialogue will be expanding days for hosting guest authors. The change will happen January 2020 when we will be adding Thursday to the schedule (and possibly Wednesday). The live airing time will be the same, at 10AM Pacific Standard Time (1P Eastern). As well, Dialogue will add shows such as “Just the Facts, Ma’am” and “East Coast-West Coast.” Furthermore, each new shows will feature an author guest co-host. The expansion is borne out of having a current schedule 6-months in the future already booked. That’s right, folks… I’m currently booking Tuesdays on Dialogue into October. But, again, the biggest news will come late in 2019 when I reveal my guest co-hosts. Oh my goodness. They are awesome.
Yep. I’m hopping busy, is right. So, if you can’t reach me by email or phone, you’ll find me under a pile of the balls I was juggling.
